Writing Workshop Kitchener: Turning Memories into Stories

A Free Writing Workshop in Kitchener

You dream of becoming a writer someday. Or maybe you have your family’s history in a box and want to write a book for your children. Or you often say this: “I’ve always wanted to write, but I’m not a good writer.” Join writing instructor and Amazon bestseller Heather Wright and young adult author Lori Wolf-Heffner for a writing workshop in Kitchener, at the Christkindl Market: They’ll show you how to start your project (the hardest part!), lead you through some exercises to help you organize it, and share their own experiences as writers. You’ll learn not only about the writing process, but you’ll also receive a list of trusted resources to help you finish your project. Suitable for anyone who wants to write a book.

About Heather Wright

Heather Wright is a Kitchener author, writing coach, and Amazon bestseller. She loves working with writers of all ages and has created a series of how-to-write books and journals that guide writers through the writing process and help them find their stories. She has written two adventure novels about boys that are great choices for parents looking for ways to engage young readers. For teen and pre-teen writers, she created an online writing camp to fill those “I’m bored” moments during Christmas and March Breaks and summer vacation.

About Lori Wolf-Heffner

K-W author Lori Wolf-Heffner writes the uplifting series, Between Worlds, a series about family, memory, and friendship, and how those who lived long before we were born are still alive in us today. Lori dreamed of being a writer ever since she was a child and even wrote to children’s author Jean Little to ask how to make writing easier. Ms. Little replied that writing is never easy, but it took Lori another 25 years to accept that. In 2015, Lori’s journey into fiction began, when she was accepted into the Canadian Senior Artists’ Resource Network’s mentorship program. In 2016, she published a short, creative non-fiction memoir about an ancestor, and in 2018, she published the first instalment of Between Worlds. Lori uses her family’s history to inspire her writing.
