Lori Wolf-Heffner
Family Fiction That Gives Hope

What does "family" mean to you? A husband, wife, and kids? Two husbands + kids? Two wives + kids? A multicultural family? A found family?

Canadian author Lori Wolf-Heffner explores family in both her romance and young adult series. Her books have no explicit content, but they don't shy away from the difficult topics of family and everyday life.

Fiction for Families

Lori Wolf-Heffner's fiction takes place in and around the Belmont and Westmount neighbourhoods of Kitchener, Ontario. Between Worlds is for ages 12+ and Love on Belmont is written for adults.

The readers in your family will find a few surprises, like characters crossing over, that can give older and younger readers something to talk about despite reading separate series.

Written to encourage discussion among families, you'll find history, personal challenges, and hope in every book.

Love on Belmont: A Sweet Romance About Community

Lori loves the hope that a good romance novel leaves you with. But she also knows #life happens. Whether it's transitioning into a new stage of life, living with disability, or coming to terms with a difficult past, Lori writes with compassion and a dose of reality.

Between Worlds: A Young Adult Series About Overcoming Big Changes in Life

Lori wanted to write the series that didn't exist when she was in her youth: one that said you're complete without a boyfriend. Meet Juliana, a 14-year-old who lives today, and her great-grandmother Elisabeth as a 14-year-old in post-WWI Eastern Europe. Elisabeth records life's lessons in a sketchbook that Juliana tries to decode 100 years later as she deals with a permanent move half-way across Canada and living with a grandfather in the early stages of dementia.

Except when she's in the thick of writing or editing her latest novel. Then she takes a break. But she does write her own newsletters, so it's her words to you.

You'll get personal updates, hear the latest news about her novels, maybe even vote on cover designs and back cover copy! She also occasionally offers contests (and prizes sometimes include reading socks--warm, cozy reading socks).
