Postcards in a Closet
Katharina Wolf, the inspiration for Elisabeth Schuhmacher in Between Worlds, was born in a village nestled in the flatlands along the Marosch River in Hungary in 1901. In 1914, the war broke out. In 1919, her hometown became part of Romania. In 1921, she became pregnant with her first child.
Unable to fathom such a life, writer Lori Wolf-Heffner researched the times, translated Katharina's often difficult-to-read postcards, and discovered that a mother's story can inspire future generations, long after she's passed away. Available for newsletter subscribers (register below).
