What to Do at Home

This Covid-19 is one nasty little prick, isn’t it? Something that’s so small that we can’t see it but it’s causing a lot of problems around the world. That’s why I’m reading 1-2 chapters each day between now and March 27th from Between Worlds 1: The Move. I’m doing these at 5:30 each day, so you can listen to something for at least 20 minutes that isn’t dire news about what’s going on outside. About Between Worlds 1: The Move

Juliana Roth loves her life in Calgary, hanging with her awesome school friends and having sleepovers with Rachel, her BFF from the dance studio. But her parents decide the family has to move half-way across the country to live with Opa Schuhmacher, her grandfather, and take care of him.

A year has passed since the end of the great war that devastated Europe. Now Elisabeth Schuhmacher’s father must leave again, this time to seek prosperity in America. Tata’s Christmas gift to his eldest daughter is a sketchbook in which she must draw everything important to her so he can see it all when he returns.
Juliana finds she needs to understand Elisabeth’s world, and seeks help from her grandfather, Elisabeth’s son. Sadly, dementia is slowly turning the key and locking his memories away forever.

The Readings

Reading are admittedly not the most visually exciting event on the face of the earth! That’s why I’m doing them at 5:30, when I assume many may be in the kitchen preparing supper and would like to occupy their minds with something besides their own worries or the news outside. I write these novels for ages 12 and up, but many, many readers are adults. If you don’t jump in until part way through, no worries. I’m saving them all to my Facebook Page, so you can listen to them there. If you’re stuck for ideas on what to do at home during this time, listening to a new book could be one of them!
